monday 7th september, the seventh day of the trip,
we had our first lessons in the classroom that was shown to us on day four at the Foreign Language School.

The fans for the classroom is different as instead of five being the strongest speed of the fans, it is number one which is the strongest.
Then in the afternoon, instead of having interaction with the local students, we had visits to two schools (Information Engineering School and Life Sciences School). These were compared with our own schools in Ngee Ann Polytechnic (School of Infocomm Technology, School of Engineering & School of Life Sciences and Chemical Technology).

First was to the Information Engineering School.

This is one of the rooms where the students will do their work in.

one of the machines that is used for students in this Information Engineering School.

I believed these are words that can motivate and encourage students to do better and challenge oneself to improve and advance.

computers for the students to use

on the way to the School of Life Sciences (Dr Tan and Mr Huang - our tour guide in wuhan university)

THE SCHOOL OF LIFE SCIENCES

The mannequins in beds - this is more alike with Health Sciences in Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP), rather than Life Sciences & Chemical Technology (LSCT) in NP.

machines used to process and complete stuffs

muscle man and me
There are real preserved organs and body parts to be seen in this laboratory, which should be used in anatomy studies. This is one point which cannot be seen in Ngee Ann Polytechnic's School of Life Sciences and Chemical Technology.

used to be able to learn the anatomy, available in laboratories in LSCT

no idea what these bottles are for. I just want to mention the difference of since China is a Chinese country, the labels on the bottles are also in Chinese, unlike Singapore, which uses English for their labels. Hence I do have to take time to adjust to this difference if I were to be taught in this environment as I need to understand what does the words mean.

nice room and seats with air condition; I guessed meetings or important stuffs are held there because this is one room that is so presentable unlike other rooms.

there are HPLC, UV and Mass spectrometry machines in the laboratory. Not all of these three machines are able to be seen or are used in LSCT in NP.
After the long visit to the two schools, we went to the dorm.
Reflection:It is different studying in the classroom in wuhan university unlike in NP's. One is that there isnt any internet available to be used, hence this maybe for the better though as we can concentrate on what Dr Tan is teaching rather than use the internet to surf this and that and lose focus. Second is that blackboard is used instead, this is not such of an impact to me though. I am just simply stating this difference. Third is the projection screen is to the left side, making hard for people who are sitting on the right to see clearly, whereas in NP, it directly in the middle of classroom allowing clear version of what it is projecting.
The schools between Wuhan University and NP is different i guess since both countries have different levels of education to instill to their students. Hence, the equipment each campus used and the teaching styles to students maybe different from each other.
day 8
the day of just lessons

Dr Tan continued to teach us on TCM using chinese words, han yu pin yin, video watching and of coz explanation in English.
Day 9 nothing much also,
is the same as day 8
LESSONS LESSONS LESSONS

This was the last slide of what Dr Tan had for his notes that he got from some sources. It is kind of hilarious to have such slide at the end. hahas
Day 10
lessons at 310 by dr tan
a new topic for a new day
Reflections on day 8, 9 & 10:Having lessons in wuhan university seems interesting, maybe because the module taught is what I am interested in learning, or like I said no distraction like the internet to shift my focus away from listening in class. Plus for this module, there are cds for us to watch to understand better what the concepts being taught and is like a refresh of what we learnt that particular day.
tomorrow will be the first time having our IS module. LSCT and MDE together in a class. This time round will be taught by the university's teacher and will be in English. Better be anyway since there are non-Chinese speaking students around in this trip. Shall tell about the IS lessons after I attended it.
